I want to remind all Expressive Composition students that not only can you get extra credit for participating in the SD Poetry Recitation Contest, but if you do a much better job in front of the camera I will change your original grade as well.
Be brave.
Start changing the world instead of letting it change you all the time.
You have until Thursday, October 28 to upload your video. The videocamera will be set up during 2nd and 3rd hour as well as after school.
You can do it. Get started.

"Learning Powered by Technology" The 2010 NET plan
The Obama administration is attempting to transform the U.S. education vision to fit what it believes are the key competencies and expertise:
1. critical thinking
2. problem solving
3. collaboration
4. multimedia communication.
According to the recently published Executive Summary "Transforming American Education: Learning Powered by Technology," these four competencies "...should be woven into all content areas. These competencies are necessary to become expert learners, which we all must be if we are to adapt to our rapidly changing world over the course of our lives, and that involves developing deep understanding within specific content areas and making the connections between them."
How does this affect teachers and students at Southern Door? What are we doing to prepare for this type of future? What do we need to do?
Please think critically to start your collaborative, multimedia communication to help us all solve this problem by responding intelligently to this blog posting.
